Same😭 I liked the trend for a very short time at the beginning because it was making fun of predatory men. Then it very quickly veered off into intense homophobia and enforcement of gender roles. I started finding my gay ass in a park reading a book, homemade matcha latte in hand, and second guessing myself wondering if I was performing for anyone. Nah, those are just things I genuinely like to do. Also I’m not into women so I’d like to see anyone argue I’m trying to have sex.
Seriously we call for men to break gender norms then when they do it’s labeled as performative to get women. And this might be controversial but so what… if they are happy and aren’t actively hurting people let it go. There is so much more to get upset over that’s actually worth our time.
Yes omg exactly! Women have been saying for years that men need to be more in touch with their feminine side and it’s okay to be vulnerable and say what you like, and then this trend that went on for like a whole year came along to beat and shame them back into masculinity. It was so homophobic and gender normative, it was really sad.
