Thank you for doing what you do! There certainly aren’t enough queer historians out there. I attended a talk about queer history in the legal context, and I was absolutely floored to learn that the first trans woman to testify before Congress did so in the 1800s during Reconstruction and her testimony was a major part of why the states ratified the 14th Amendment. Conservatives try to argue that equal protection doesn’t apply to gay/trans people, but baby, we’re the reason it even exists!
