Some, not all! People donโt have to take the trans label. Iโm gender queer but I donโt claim that as I donโt think it right for my situation. Not that trans hast to be mtf or ftm but the amount of gender identities and gender spectrum certainly holds many people outside of the trans umbrella that are still gender queer
For me itโs becuase I have lots of trans friends who have had to go through a lot, dead naming, body dysmorphia, obvi all the feelings of the wrong gender. In my case I didnโt want to be the opposite, I just didnโt want to be bound by either gender and felt a major friction to gender roles. I donโt feel the need to transition and I donโt have gender dysphoria with my body, I simply just feel non gendered. Thatโs not the case for everyone and obviously everyone valid but thatโs just my exp.
I donโt resonate with the trans experience. My gender and sex feel disconnected; Iโve always been nonbinary and I would have been so regardless of what I was born as. So in that sense I donโt feel any need to alter my expression or any sex characteristics to align with my gender identity. This isnโt to take away from any enby who identifies as trans, itโs the majority and completely valid, but I just feel it doesnโt describe my personal experience, and thatโs just as valid
