
I think this mentality is a little invalidating and can be homophobic too, because it implies all the people who are monosexual (either straight or gay) may actually be able to choose who they are attracted to and just haven’t experimented enough yet (or maybe them being gay is “just a phase after all”)
I think that is your own personal bias speaking. I think more people are coming out as bi because it’s more normalized and not as taboo (depending on where you live) to date other genders, but i don’t think there is a widespread of inherently bi people. I do think sexuality is a spectrum but I think only an individual should be allowed to define themself which is why we should be careful about over generalization statements
