i haven’t seen the show but i guess it depends. is it comparable to the adventure time/fiona and cake gender swap thing?

it sounds like it’s a new show, based on an older show? I wouldn’t consider genderbent versions of characters to be the same person personally, just alternate timeline shenanigans, but I don’t think it much matters, you can interpret it how you want

I’m not to familiar with adventure time. But it’s basically that they changed the genders of preexisting characters that were previously depicted as male.
