is genderfluid considered being under the trans umbrella? to me, it feels like a whole different thing.

Some people consider it to be. It sounds like you don’t. Transgender is a category, and categories are created. If you feel your identity fits in that umbrella, great. If you don’t, that’s also great.

I consider it to be under the trans umbrella because of it being something that doesn't align with my gab/sab but I'm also biased bc I identify with male more often than female and I'm afab

I’m genderfluid, nonbinary, and trans, and count genderfluid under the trans umbrella. If you don’t vibe with those labels, that’s fine too! You do what’s right for you.

I think it falls under the umbrella, but I agree that it is definitely a very different vibe from specifically trans people. Personally I kinda feel like “gender is kinda silly and I don’t really identify with the idea overall” where many trans people are much more “I identify with this gender but not this one”
