I was born & raised in the south. it’s riddled with churches for various denominations & billboards about finding jesus & repenting, what struggles exactly are they talking about lmfao

In America, if you're a religious organization you get tax exemptions. If you're a trans person, you get called a 'predator' to women and children. If you're a Christian in the south, every door is opened to you. If you're trans in the south, you get killed.

I just feel bad for their kids having to grow up thinking thats okay. And theyre trying to teach that at schools i heard!! I heard their pledge has “god” in it. I cant believe theyre forcing this on our kids

they were going on and on about the “hate they’ve received” from queer people and then talked about how they wanted people to accept their religion “like other people accept trans people” (paraphrasing bc i forget their exact words) and along the way compared their experiences to that of trans people. then immediately said they “didn’t agree with their (lgbtqia+ ppl’s) lifestyle”😭

I wish that trans people could be as accepted as Christians and Christians could be as accepted as trans people. Seems like Christians have a persecution fetish and would really enjoy what actually being treated like crap or being scared to exist feels like.
