Hi everyone, I'm looking for resources (particularly books) to learn more about the history of complex queer identities, specifically he/him lesbians. I am cis but feel it would be ignorant to not try and educate myself about these identities to prevent-

Not just he/him lesbians but also she/her gays or just any complex identity that is outside of the "norm" that even some queer people have created within the community

-misunderstanding and help me to further sympathize with my queer brothers and sisters. I know my understanding as a cis person is irrelevant to the validity and expressiveness of the identity, I just want to for my own learning and experience

this is exactly the book you’re looking for. talks about how not so long ago being a trans man and being a butch were basically the same thing
