the ones that are pushing so hard for trans MEN to be able to be lesbians conveniently forget that they’re basically saying men are allowed to be in women’s and wlw spaces and it’s totally valid. like bffr, i respect my wlw friends enough to know that i, as a man, cannot be a lesbian even though i’m immersed in the culture

Trans men trying to invade women’s spaces is a totally valid thing to worry about, as a trans man who used to be a lesbian, I think it’s bs. There’s a difference between a transmasc lesbian and a trans man lesbian. You CAN be a transmasc lesbian, you can NOT be a trans man lesbian, because lesbian means non-man loving non-man.

Lesbians can choose not to date trans men you know that right Like just because a trans guy still feels comfortable calling himself lesbian for whatever personal reasons he might have doesn’t mean other lesbians are being forced to date him

Personal identity =\= forced group acceptance. Other lesbians are perfectly allowed to not wanting to date a trans man lesbian, or a trans woman lesbian. What we’re talking about is how people choose to define themselves

Saying ‘trans men can be lesbians’ is like saying ‘cis men can be lesbians, as long as that’s how they identify.’ Then following it up with, ‘Well, lesbians don’t have to date them, it’s just about identity.’ You’d never say that about cis men, because it clearly violates what the word means. So why is it okay to say that about trans men, who are also men? It’s only seen as acceptable because people like you still fundamentally see trans men as women

I think cis men can identify as lesbians, I’m simply wary of those who identify that way bc of cis men’s history of invading queer spaces for insidious reasons. Again, policing other people’s identities doesn’t end with just queer people, anyone can use any label and it’s weird if you tell them they can’t think of themselves that way
