
Its valid to be nervous— its a new experience! But trans women are women and you shouldnt let the media propagandize you into thinking liking them is the same as liking a man, because they are intrinsically different. When i started dating my gf (trans lesbian) i was nervous too. Just don’t let your nervousness hurt her.
He said he’s straight, so I think he’s aware of that. I took his clarification on that as an acknowledgement that he’s a straight man entering an LGBT space, but that he has something relevant to ask. And it’s completely normal to be nervous about new experiences, and to ask for advice about said new experiences. It doesn’t mean he can’t “handle” a trans woman — he hasn’t even had that experience yet, he just wanted to hear from people who are more familiar with it.
