
The Old Testament is explicitly very proslavery and homophobic, and misogynistic… and racist. The thing people don’t understand about Christianity is that it’s theoretically an attempt to reconcile Jesus’s teachings with his father’s. This is… impossible. They’re contradictory, hence Gnosticism.
So, that’s not how Christianity works on… so many levels. But that’s not the point. The point is that religions are made and modified to suit whatever the people doing the making and modifying want. Christianity, in that context, is quite potent because you can find a verse to support literally anything, since the Bible was written over the course of about 2000 years by dozens or hundreds of authors over multiple languages.
