Okay as someone who has studied statistics. There are generally two overarching "purposes" of any given study: to establish a causal relationship through an experiment, or to establish a correlation that is generalizable to the wider population. Studies, by design, are not typically capable of doing both. I can’t find the study (if you know the title that would be helpful), but regardless, the population is def only those states, and can never be generalized to a wider population than that.

In case it wasn’t obvious, while it might come off as a bit deranged to focus on such a small minority, I’m genuinely starting to think that some people here truly believe further left people are more pro trump over harris than more center leaning liberals when the opposite appears to be true.

Exactly!! That’s what others were saying on another post quoting this. The US is way too broad and diverse to be using less than a handful of states as ‘evidence’, and OP tried defending it so badly 💀
