I prefer people assume or ask the whole room. if u ask one person it lets them know u clock them.

Use the pronouns for the gender you perceive the person to be, and shift if corrected

Like another commenter said, it’s best to ask the room so you don’t single anybody out. I don’t really mind somebody just asking me, though. Most people who aren’t clearly worried about passing as a binary will be fine with you just asking. Enbies have more of a variety in pronouns too so it works out lol.
