this is crazy honestly, it has been so public for so long that mcdonald’s supports israel. genuinely if you don’t know already it’s because you haven’t taken the effort to educate yourself, so you probably don’t care that much anyway. i know you meant this in good faith, and i appreciate you asking, but the lack of effort you have put in to educating yourself is really unfortunate

i’d apologize but i don’t think you’d care to accept it based on that. i don’t eat fast food, so no… i don’t keep up with boycotts on things that i already don’t buy. thanks for the answer i guess😭

upvote 57 downvote

Anonymous replying to -> #8 4w

it’s not a priority or pressure target of the BDS list. it was an organic boycott that BDS supports. and boycotts lose a lot of their bite when spread too thin. focus on amazon, google, teva, sodastream. most fast food places are a secondary concern

yes and people should avoid them, duh, but people aren’t there nearly as frequently as they’re at mcdonald’s, so we should probably focus our energy equally at the multi billion dollar conglomerations that are incredibly popular and funding them as well

upvote 2 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #2 4w

literally like. i can cut people a bit of slack for teva bc you don’t really get to pick and choose what manufacturer your pharmacist fills your prescription for, but it’s still a specific company listed as a “pressure target.” this statement isnt meant to exculpate mcdonald’s, but it also isn’t a priority

upvote 20 downvote
default user profile icon
Anonymous replying to -> #8 4w

where did i say don’t boycott it? i just said it’s a secondary concern. there are companies listed as priority by the BDS and mcdonald’s isn’t one. a boycott is more effective when it is more precise and targeted than just “boycott everything” because there is a level of fatigue the average person will develop. some companies are worse than others and need to be treated as such

Everyone in the first world is hurting the planet. The environmental case against AI is weaker than the environmental case against cars and meat. Using Yik Yak takes energy too. Chatgpt is good for pulling hard to find information and to get a quick overview of the details. Yes, it is good to follow up with your own review, and to challenge and question what AI says.
