My pronouns are (jokingly) your/mom but not in a transphobic way, instead in a “I’m nonbinary but I live in the south and don’t feel safe sharing my pronouns however I also don’t want to misgender myself” way

Gotchu. Usually what I actually say is “I’m cool with whatever” but that’s usually not an option on prescriptive forms so I’ll leave them blank. But “any” is also lowkey gonna at least out me as a liberal and my career would suffer from that alone

it just seems unusual that using your assigned pronouns at birth is more triggering than saying something that can only be perceived by others as openly mocking the trans/nb communities, even if that’s not your intention. but like i said, whatever gets you through your day. i’d highly recommend seeing a talk therapist with these types of concerns if you have the resources.

most “prescriptive forms” give you an option not to answer, and if it’s dangerous for you to be “outed as a liberal,” i don’t feel like they’d be asking for pronouns in the first place. maybe you’re not as alone as you think.

My company is international and the company itself is woke asf but my office and chain of leadership specifically is definitely not lol. There’s a corporate GSA but at the same time there’s a guy in my office with a confederate flag in his cubicle, and a manager of a different department in my office with a mug that says “liberal tears”

I wish more prescriptive forms had “any” as an option. Like Instagram and stuff. I feel like not having pronouns at all makes me look like a conservative, which I definitely don’t want that 😭 I socially want to be obviously liberal but don’t necessarily want to be out of the closet. Queer dog whistles n stuff

Tbh the frog is a little bit too obvious for my purposes bcos I feel like a homophobe could still clock it, but the sunset especially is perfect

saying your pronouns are your/mom makes you look way more conservative than just not listing them are you joking, it’s literally mocking queer people. i genuinely can’t tell if this is rage bait. no one is going to judge you for not telling your coworkers your pronouns because you feel unsafe

I donttt rlly understand why people are taking this so seriously when I clarified in the post that I was joking 😭 no I’ve never actually listed my pronouns as your/mom or told someone that, I just thought it’d be a funny post that could potentially open the conversation about the lack of suitable options for gnc people in unsafe areas

Like, in my very first comment I clarified that what I actually do is say “any pronouns are fine” when asked and leave it blank when typing isn’t allowed
