as a phlebotomist, I always make sure my patients with a history of passing out get to lie down with a juice while I draw their blood. so sorry this happened to u op :( they should have listened to your concerns

they usually listen and let me lie down but i think i got a student today :/ which i usually ask to not have because i am a hard stick and i need to lie down, and as much as i would love to offer people practice, i’m not gonna play pincushion for an hour. she poked me and immediately started digging, i woke up and was treated like an inconvenience for passing out, and then the same person asked to try sticking me again. no ma’am, you dig for veins and i’m not gonna be able to handle that again

ugh I’m so sorry that’s totally valid. I always ask permission before repositioning because I know how difficult it is. I hope ur next experiences are better, every patient deserves to be listened to and have their individual needs met <3
