Fae pronouns? I don't want to be disrespectful but I've never heard of those before, what are they?

q: how would you prefer verb conjugation for fae? i know for singular pronouns it’s usually “__ is/was” but i also feel like using plural verb conjugation is more satisfying (fae are)? i also don’t want to like basically group fae with they thought?

It’s just Neo pronouns I figure. It’s just something someone made up for the means of niche self expression. I’d be surprised if there were any well documented and consistently followed rules regarding the use of “fae” as a pronoun.

give me one source of a celtic person saying that fae pronouns are cultural appropriation. i’m not arguing that white people naming their kids japanese names isnt cultural appropriation, but there is literally nothing wrong with fae pronouns

Also “the fae” isn’t been the right way to refer to them. The pronoun is seperate from the mythology and I kidna hate people acting like it’s the same

If you really cared about the folklore you wouldn’t refer to the good folk by that name and you’d be respectful

celtic practices are not closed! many things in neopaganism down to the calendar used for annual celebrations stem from celtic and norse cultures. even if it were a closed practice, there are many white people who's ancestry traces back to places where celtic culture is practiced, making it accessible to them. even so, fae/faeself pronouns have nothing to do with the fae, and are just cool.
