Possible? Yes. Accessible? It’s gonna cost twenty eight thousand dollars a fucking year. Because what is the point of lifesaving, world-changing medication development under capitalism if not adding a THOUSAND PERCENT MARKUP TO A TWENTY FIVE DOLLAR MANUFACTURING COST

with ANY new drug including this, regardless of cost, *keep an eye on whether your insurance approves it*. i am not saying we shouldnt discuss high pre insurance costs of meds but i have met plenty of people who never even looked into meds that would benefit them (certain hrt types, prep, certain procedures, etc) and had no idea that their insurance literally covered it, or could be bullied into w/ prior auth and a little insistence from their doctor & thus just assumed it was inaccessible

& never got on it. including someone who put off a hysterectomy for years bc “its too expensive” despite having medicaid AND MEDICAID COVERING THAT EXACT PROCEDURE WITH A GREAT LOCAL SURGEON. she deadass never looked into it bc she assumed she could never afford it. i myself have been on multiple $$$/mo drugs and am going on a v new $$$$/mo drug soon that medicaid WILL cover, i just had to call around and advocate for myself

It’s brand new. I doubt any insurance will cover it for a few years. That’s what happened with nurtec. It’s how they make their money.

yes, but still worth checking and keeping an eye on it, & worth seeing if your particular plan has guidelines for trying to get very new drugs covered bc ive been on plans that had that kind of thing. im also less talking specifically abt this particular drug and more abt new and expensive drugs/treatments in general just bc i have seen so many ppl needlessly wait
