I’m not transphobic, at least I don’t think I am. But I have been called one because I said I don’t think transwoman can have periods. They can have phantom periods. Is this a tough topic? Should I avoid in the future?

You should, because trans women (the space matters) can have all the symptoms of a period, except for the bleeding.

I wouldn’t say it’s a tough topic, but there’s not really many contexts where it’s worth bringing it up? It’s generally not helpful to the conversation to point out the differences. if theres a trans woman there with actual experience, she can talk about it if necessary, but correcting people about experiences you haven’t had is a bit rude

I understand that scientifically they don’t BUT they do experience cramps and stuff. They just experience it differently. And since they are women they do experience a period it’s just different from cis women. Idk I just think that just bc they aren’t the same doesn’t mean they aren’t both a form of period women can have if that makes sense

a period isn’t just bleeding. it’s the bloating, cramps & nausea (sometimes) too.
