like im a cis female and i plan to dress as a guy for halloween. if someone were to offer me transition info i would just be confused.... like its halloween. the point is to be whatever you want. why would it reflect on my identity?

honestly i feel like this kind of post pushes the narrative that 1) men can't be feminine without it being something to look down on and 2) the whole thing where people treat trans men specifically as betraying the queer community and all the force-fem 'jokes' on trans men, telling trans men they'd be better as girls, trying to convince trans men they'd arent really trans if they like feminine things

why does it matter what gender you dress as for halloween lol i don’t think that’s anything indicative of wanting to transition

Who tf cares if you dress up as a girl on Halloween it’s the one night where what u dress as doesn’t reflect who you are.

sorry to say but as a “shitty cis dude” who likes to crossdress i really cant stand when queer ppl act like they know that im closeted trans and i just haven’t figured it out yet. i’ve been in this body long enough to know who i am and i know that im not trans

I dressed up as a dude last Halloween (I’m a cis woman) and my mom and family kept asking if my pronouns were they/them now like??? No??? I just wanted to have a fake beard and act like a fuck boy???

obviously this post isn't saying this, i just feel like it's connected to the broader anti (trans/) masculinity culture in queer spaces. i don't think OP or OOP thinks these things, i just feel like it pushes a subconscious rhetoric that is harmful to men in general and men in the trans/queer community more specifically
