I suspect they know that. It does always interest me that these people pay lip service to Hawai'i, Puerto Rico, Guam, and other places, but don't include their own land (turtle island / mainland USA, I presume) as a place that should be returned to the indigenous people. Really makes you think
That’s super interesting; that hasn't been my experience (to my knowledge!) where I grew up on Maui. For my family, access is given to people who have respect for and/or connection to the land and the people taking care of the land. I might be a special case though, since I was adopted into a family with ancestral ties to our area? What spaces do you know where they're restricted like that? I'd be curious to know more, especially now that I'm studying on O'ahu & can explore here
