Pharmacy tech here depending on what state you are in the price for 1 pump through a discount card (goodrx, visory, single care etc) will def bring it down. Just a matter of state regulation on schedule 4s (testosterone)

Genuinely, ask the pharmacist if it’s possible to find one that’s cheaper/off brand, I know a lot of of them arent allowed to offer cheaper options unless asked by the customer. Not sure if it works with HRT, but it could help a bit, if nothing else works

I would try good rx like someone else said but since that fluctuates a lot you could also try other pharmacies. It’s different prices at different pharmacies

people usually think you need a subscription or something but you don't 🙏🏽 just ask your pharmacy to put it on goodrx , if they tell you they need a specific coupon number you can find it online

Are they supposed to cover it? If so, you can sue them for denying coverage if you have the money to do so.

It will not bring the price down much, if at all. And you’d have to see if the pharmacy is even willing to fill it without insurance.

idk of any pharmacy chain that will deny filling a prescription because of a lack of insurance. they would probably check the goodrx price and confirm the patient is willing to pay before placing an order for the medication, but for the quantity op posted it would probably be under $150 and could be even less depending on the pharmacy

It won’t always be enough. GoodRX got a few hundred dollars off for meds I needed, but I still couldn’t afford 2.5k vs 3k.

i agree, but i will say again i went to the website before posting my comment to confirm it made a dent in the price 🙏🏽 it can vary depending on location & which pharmacy is being used but the website is telling me $80-135 for this medication & quantity.

also no shade to op but this medication has never been as low as $70 without insurance coverage, so its possible the pharmacy was already running it under goodrx & op didn't realize.

The times I’ve tried to use goodrx at my pharmacy the tech tells me that the coupon actually makes it more expensive, but I have saved one in case it works this time around

Good RX actually does a lot. My college offers testosterone for 40$ thank god. But when I tried to get a refill at Walgreens it was 300$ and 150 after good rx. Thankfully summer semester was still in session so I was allowed to just buy it from the school pharmacy for 40$ (had to drive an hour tho). But anyways these prices are crazy (granted 300$ is so much better than whatever the fuck that price is up there in OPs pic)

do they cover stuff for mental health reasons because then if you have/get a therapist then it can be covered by a psychiatrist like referral because gender dysphoria is in the dsm-5

No one actually uses good rx it’s an umbrella term for many different searchable discount cards or a universal one the pharmacy uses specifically. Price depends on who you talk to honestly. Going to a less busy place they could help you more possibly more attentive

I’m aware. I’m saying just trying goodrx specifically is not enough. They are just one program. You go into a pharmacy and ask to use goodrx it’s usually not goodrx there’s many alternatives that are cheaper that we use. When someone comes in with a physical card it’s usually more than searchable in network programs such as script save, rxsaver, and other ones that provide better prices based on their formulary and any preferred drugs they have listed, the pbm, and contacts at specific pharmacy

I looked at your other comment that listed other searchable discounts. So I should ask for one of those instead? Or does saying “can I use good rx” basically do the same thing because you said they use it like an umbrella term? Curious because if you’re saying there are better searchable saves that’ll help many people. Could I look for these online and go into the pharmacy saying “I found this searchable save” or something along those lines?
