I just generally get confused when people act like lesbianism is some sort of separate thing from other types of relationships/love. It happens a bit with gay love or bi/bi love too, but lesbian love seems the most pronounced. To rephrase your original question somewhat, is there a difference between a relationship between a trans man and a woman that would be considered lesbian, and one that wouldn’t be? or do people consider this distinction separate from the relationship?
Also, while I understand identifying as a lesbian as a trans guy, I feel like it would be somewhat invalidating for a woman dating a trans guy to say *she* were a lesbian, because that typically would mean she’s not into men. Do people in this kind of relationship usually identify differently?
I’ve seen many trans men identify as lesbians and I’m just confused bc being lesbian usually means ur not a man and ur not into men, which would invalidate their identity and whoever would be dating them. It just doesn’t really make sense to me bc it’s like a trans woman saying she’s a gay man, it doesn’t really make any sense to me and I kinda wanted someone to explain to me how it worked
