Rainbow capitalism = bad because they’re trying to get our money by pandering to us even though they don’t do any more, but want to look cool and “woke” No rainbow capitalism = bad because they don’t see us as a demographic to pander to and don’t think that not pandering to us would have any effect on business and infact, may help their business / don’t want to offend their NEW main customer base (old people who tend more conservative / general conservatives)

I do think a lack of it is worse because having it at least shows at least marginal support even if it’s just to be sexy and a lack of it shows a bad cultural shift.

Oh same absolutely a lack of it is worse because it shows that companies don’t see us as a group that is being supported. Like they don’t think no support will bring backlash. (Like people mad bc they want them to support.)

I think a big part of this also has to do with trump’s temper Companies probably know by now that pride marketing isn’t super effective, but it still makes them a quick buck But this is outweighed by the fear that openly showing acceptance of LGBTQ will get them some form of direct punishment from the exec branch in the form of tariffs or even arrests
