This explanation confused me more. The picture shows biological tree being used to create a house. I took it as sex and gender being more complex than what some people know like how the house is more complex than just wood. I thought this meme was making fun of the “you’re either a boy or a girl” argument and pointing out that it’s not incorrect to say the house is made of tree but it’s not the full story

People are mad that I said it’s not factually untrue to say a house is made out of a tree, the same way you can say a trans person has the genetic makeup of some combination of x and/or y chromosomes. But there’s more to a house that makes it a home. The same way a person’s identity is more than their biological chromosomes.

chromosomes are only one facet of biological sex and an incredibly dated way to view these types of issues, especially since there are health conditions entirely unrelated to trans at all that make people have the “wrong” chromosomes for their primary and secondary physical sex characteristics. wood isn’t really technically “biologically” a tree after it’s dead and processed for lumber either.
