can we start having a conversation on why amab non binary people are treated so negatively in the lgbtqia+ community?

pretty sure it’s a form of transmisogyny :/ like I know that etymologically it sounds like transmisogyny would be exclusive to trans women, but my impression is that anyone who was AMAB but not a man experiences it to some extent

a lot of it is because unfortunately tons of folks just see nb as an alternative to being female. hence the new "binary" nb person (afab, green hair, pierced, "alt," short hair). so if you're outside that unfortunately you will probably get treated poorly and it is super not ok

I'm a cis woman so I can't speak on this but if anyone knows why I'm genuinely curious. Because I always see people acting like amab enbies don't exist or have a really negative view that seems like it's out of nowhere??

I have met 2 cis men who pretended to be nonbinary (later admitted they weren’t nonbinary) bc they found it attracted more alt/bi girls, I personally don’t have a negative opinion of them but I could see an experience with the liars could cause a negative stereotype

I had no idea this was a thing tbh- very strange

They both looked like cis men and said they used he/they pronouns and were repulsed by the idea of expressing any femininity, like one would only paint his nails “masculine colors”

"Masculine colors" god that's so bad it's funny. Painting your nails is pretty unmasculine, it's definitely an androgynous/feminine thing (not to disparage men who paint their nails cause I think that's really cool it's just not masculine)
