you can never know EVERY person within a group. unless we pull statistics out, most claims are probably coming from lived experience. it should be obvious why that's a non valid way to generalize a global community. please guys stop extrapolating and exaggerating. where does this get us?

i agree but i also think that you can’t rly fault someone- or multiple people for being skeptical if all they’ve had is bad experiences with that group of people.

if you're recounting a personal experience or want support or to not feel alone, then you can say that. you don't have to apply the negative experience you had with someone to all people that share one or more of their demographics.

saying "gay men are misogynistic" is not a call out. holding a specific gay man accountable for misogyny is a call out.

not a single post i've seen has directly said we need to be better about calling out instances of misogyny. they make a blanket statement of "gay men get away with misogyny/are misogynistic" and then everyone argues back and forth

this person went on to say "not all gay men" in the comments but the og statement said just "gay men," encompassing all gay men. but that's nitty gritty semantics. this is just what i've personally seen
