Blue state born and raised. I feel so bad for the hatred being spewed at our southern siblings, we should be uniting right now not being pretentious snobby pieces of shit towards people who either can’t or don’t want to move. You shouldn’t HAVE to move to protect your rights. Fucking sickening

no bc i saw one dumbass comment saying that we try to change and hangout with bigots. dumbass majority of us stay in the city which is mainly blue compared to the rest of the state and we hangout with people who dont hate us. like yall cannot be this dumb omg

I’m from a blue state and I genuinely don’t understand how people think it’s so easy for red state lgbt folk to “just move.” Like it’s insane to want people to just pack up their whole lives and leave everything they’ve ever known. Like power to you if you do that, but you shouldn’t be degraded for not doing that.

who has ever judged someone for not moving lol, i’ve never met anyone in my blue state who would say this. yall have met some weirdos

Born and raised in blue states and I moved to a red state as SOON as I got the chance. The intensity of blue state people was too much for me and that’s okay, find your people

they’re also not better for being able to lift themselves by their bootstraps up and away to a blue state! we’ll keep fighting the good fight without you, as much as your increased strength would’ve been appreciated

It’s also very telling that when they talk about “red states” it always comes out when they say “yeah the south is so bad.” Because they’re always talking about the south… never like. Montana or North Dakota.

Exactly this isn’t the civil war we aren’t north v south red states are everywhere. Also the logic behind leaving a state just because it’s red or blue doesn’t make sense to me at all.

(I think it’s classism) because people in blue states see themselves as more educated than “the south” wich must mean all southerners are trump supporters (bc trumpies are stupid) wich means all souther lgbtq folk are complicit (and also stupid because they’re in the south.) fully disregarding the fact that no one chooses where they’re born. And if they were worse educated it’s not their fault. Blue state people see southerners as less than them because they’re from the south and people from

The south MUST be poor and MUST be complicit never mind the fact that a lot of the loss of wealth in those regions came from industries failing wildly and people not being helped and towns becoming ghost towns and you can’t just move away from somewhere you’ve lived your whole life. And I don’t think they understand that being able to pack up your whole life and start anew WITH WEALTH (like being able to get a new house somewhere else comfortably) is a PRIVELAGE

(Obviously immigrating illegally into this county to get a better life and having a hard time of it is not privileged.)

It’s not even I was born here type of thing to me it’s more a how will we progress as a society if we run away to a “safe” blue state. When red states lose all the queer people and we just collectively give up on red states we are giving up on all social progress

THIS TOO!! Ur so smart :) that’s currently my grandfathers thing too, he wants to stay in America because he came here illegally, he fought to be an American he’s not going to give it up. I’m debating leaving not because of the political climate, but because I’ve always wanted to move to the country they’re from.

I think it’s important to stay and fight if you’re able. And I definitely agree that if we give up on red states we loose all progress. It’s also just horrible how people who claim to be leftists will group all people in a state as being conservative just because they’re southern or red. Like they say all the time “queer people are everywhere” and then they don’t actually believe that

as someone in higher education, i think the more educated part is interesting. i think education opportunities should be equal regardless of race, gender, and disability, however intellect has nothing to do with being in this community

I know. And a lot of people in blue states don’t understand that people aren’t just born stupid, but that they don’t have the same education experiences as those people in blue states. Intellect has nothing to do with being in this community, but those with privelage to access the best education in the USA don’t understand they have that privilege

In Ireland, I studied conflict resolution, and how to exist at conflict and in conflict communities, also how to help social conflict resolved in a productive manner. We focused on the troubles and societal divisions. In Greece we studied immigration and the refugee crisis primarily looking at immigration in the EU and different types of non-citizen class residences like refugees and migrants asylum seekers ect
