im a lesbian, yes. ive been one for over 15 years. i found out i was trans more recently. i refuse to let go of my community and identity bc u dont underatand that ppl use different labels differently.

I feel like there is a sense that ppl don’t want to separate themselves from labels that they were comfortable with, but they need to consider that a straight woman who sees you as a man won’t think of themselves as a lesbian, and calling yourself that is invalidating to their identity

Real. That’s the whole point of labels too, like making sense of things and finding meaning. And to that, if there’s no meaning and it’s all individualistic, then what’s the point?… And so I see people lean into that sort of abolitionist thinking but they cling to their labels with their personal definitions for dear life, sitting on that fence. How can you even foster community if you cant even decide what the banner and community is about??
