Vets, yes, but not any active members currently. She wasn’t out, though, at least not publicly. A lot of Queer people and allies are in the services, even if not as often outspoken, but so are a lot of assholes on power trips. Do what you feel safest with.

I go to a partially military college, and I know many queer people who were in the military. Some of them left after they graduated, but many of them stayed and are currently serving in different areas. One of my friends recently married her wife when she was on leave.
