Unfortunately it's become something that's used to exclude & other people. It comes from Serano's definition of transmisogyny, but it's a shorthand now for people w/ specific gender identities, & that's not how transmisogyny works (bigots don’t care how you identify. Shocker). More & more it’s used to minimize other people's problems unfortunately. I think TMA could have a place in theory, but the often-prescribtive TME is honestly quite useless bc ppl aren't always TME.

I’ve heard of it, but it always seemed really silly to me too. Why would I want to define myself by the discrimination I face? I’m a person, not a target.
