It’s def crazy work, but I don’t think it is strictly speaking illegal. I don’t think the SA angle would work, but that isn’t my specialty. You could try for defamation, but you would have to prove the statement painted you in a false light, or was probably untrue. 1st amendment is kind of a touch subject in the current state of the country, but a 1A defense would probably be enough given a lot of the courts are run conservatively. Sorry

This is happening to a fellow student at my college. I was kinda hoping that this person could file a report with my school’s Title ix office, but I don’t think that would work :(

Actually, that’s a good point. You might be able to get the school to take action. Not sure what they would do. Even if they can take action, the cat can’t go back in the bag for whoever was outed this way. Please let them know my thoughts are with them, if that’s any comfort.
