Not everyone is coming from the same background as you, with the same information and resources as you, and/or with the same surrounding culture as you. In the same way that you were raised (either by friends, family, or found family in real life or on the internet) to be accepting and proud, many people are taught from day 1 to be ashamed, to fear, and to demonize. It’s perfectly ok to hate someone who is bigoted and purposefully ignorant, but you need to give people a chance to break free-
red states have a majority red. that means there is a minority of people who do not vote red. additionally, a huge reason they are red states is because 🍊 preys on people in less financially secure places because he knows his rhetoric will work. it is a systemic problem and the young queer people in southern states need support to make change or leave instead of this elitist bullshit you spew without thinking about the reality of the people you’re talking about
-from what could be a lifetime of programming and an environment of fear and hatred. It isn’t right OR intelligent to judge someone based off of the opinion of the general populous of where they live. Try to connect, uplift, and educate. And if they’re still bigoted assholes, THEN fuck them and they should eat shit
