because it gives a lot of us a reason to keep going and keep fighting. and the same reason as there being an International Worker's Day, a day/month of celebration builds community and solidarity.

To celebrate and remember those that came before us, and those who didn't have the rights we have today, and to continue to fight for the rights we don't have or are being threatened.

because there was a time when being LGBTQ+ was socially unacceptable & legally challenging so why not celebrate the challenges that were overcame by those who didn’t give up the fight to be themselves comfortably?
