That’s what I’ve been saying. “I can’t vote for Kamala because of x, y, z. I’ll waste my vote on someone who I know isn’t gonna win.” And then Trump wins and we watch all of our votes being stripped away one by one.

Yes I was wrong. At the time I was simply scared about everything and unfortunately didn’t have my license the day of voting. But yes I would’ve voted 3rd party and I feel like an idiot for that

“I’m SO RACIST” “How racist are you Greg?” “I’m so racist I’d rather throw America into another Great Depression than see a black woman an office!” This is our lives.

God this just reminded me of this one girl in our friend group last year on campus that was like “I’m not going to vote and I never will vote” and I was thinking about her.

jill stein KNEW she wasn’t going to win (obviously) she knew that all she was gonna do was take votes away from harris. she also kept her anti abortion beliefs VERY secretive because she knew that only fake leftists would vote for her. she conned you idiots

This is true but even if they did all vote, Trump would still have won :(

i’m so sorry to be that person who’s too woke but can we please call her Harris instead of Kamala. all of the male presidents and candidates are given respect by using their last names. the only one who isn’t is a black woman

Guys while I voted for Kamala and I understand the frustration with all the horrific shit going on, you gotta realize that even if every single third party voter voted for Kamala she still wouldn’t have had enough votes to win most the swing states, and that’s assuming that all those voting third party wouldn’t have gone and voted for Trump, disregarding all those who voted for RFK Jr. Instead of pointing fingers at those people, how about you use that energy to organizing in your communities?

Maybe instead of blaming people the Democratic Party should idk actually listen to the people and run a candidate that can win and is in touch with the people

Yup same here. They called me a Zionist even when I explained that Trump was also going to send billions of dollars to Israel so refusing to vote for Kamala for that reason was moot. I genuinely don’t know what those people expected to happen.

my hot take is that they knew they were throwing away their vote. in truth, they actually wanted trump to win without sacrificing their conscience knowing that they specifically put in a ballot for that man.

That’s what I never got, ANY CANDIDATE THAT MADE OFFICE WOULD CONTINUE SUPPORTING ISRAEL. At least with Kamala we could focus our energy on that, but now we’re so busy surviving our own waking nightmare.

I got called a Zionist and selfish for stating “we can’t help Palestine if we’re suffering ourselves. Being a one issue voter does more harm than good.”

I understand your thinking here, but it's largely about people wanting something that's short and memorable. Harris is a common name in the US, so it's tougher to get to stick associated with a single person.

Treating the term Zionist like it’s a slur is antisemitic to begin with— sorry I think Tel Aviv should continue to exist— the only place I could publicly be myself as an LGBTQIA person

I don’t necessarily think people here use Zionist as a slur per se—but they really use it as just an insult. With that being said, people here are very quick to write off anyone that doesn’t think Israel should be wiped off the map entirely (or anything similar to that nature) as a Zionist. Really, if you have a certain belief that sort of goes against the popular mindset… people here will quickly write you off as something like a bootlicker or a Zionist. Nuance just sorta goes to die here tbh

Oh I agree, but two things can be true at once. I hate the Democratic establishment and think we need people like Mamdani and AOC, etc

I think that both countries should continue to exist peacefully, whether that’s one state or two. But the people of Palestine definitely need to stop being genocided and treated as equal citizens in their own or the same country
