I’m a lesbian and I’m about to start working as an OBGYN soon. How would you feel dating someone or seeing on a dating app that someone’s a gay OBGYN?

Shouldn’t you just do the job you enjoy and the right partner for you won’t mind that you’re pursuing what you like?

Putting myself in the position of a woman (as an AMAB), from what I hear there is nothing sexy about an OBGYN job. It would be like a surgeon and a patient. It isn’t sexy. Just biology. I do get that an AFAB would be a lot more leery. But I would probably just see it as “you happen to be into women and also be an OBGYN”

wouldn’t care and certainly more comfortable than if a man was there

Wouldn’t care. Probably have a few questions about the job just out of curiosity too haha

I’m absolutely ecstatic about my job and I’ll be doing it no matter what! I’m just curious about the overall perception!

If you don’t mind me asking, why? To answer your question though, my overall perception of you would be that you’re an OBGYN that happens to be into other women

I’ve had some people say I’m no better than a male OBGYN

Those are the people that only see someone for their sexuality. You’re going to want to ignore those people💀

Eh I (afab nb used-to-be-a-lesbian) wouldn't be wary. OBGYN care is something that a lot of lesbians actually struggle to access so I’d think it’s awesome to do & give ppl more inclusive spaces to get pap smears & go through pregnancy when you're not cishet. Plus drs are paid more so like, bonus

That’s exactly why I’m doing it!! (Not the money part the other stuff!)
