has anyone else been noticing a lot more transphobic comments on tiktok and instagram lately?? or is my algorithm just tryna get me sad n shit? ☹️

Honestly, just block everyone. You won’t be missing anything. I block and report every transphobic, homophobic, racist, sexist, etc etc comment that I see. One day, my Instagram very well may be whittled down to me and three other people, but at least it will be a peaceful Instagram

yes i think generally there’s been an uptick, but the algorithm shows you intentionally inflammatory content because it promotes engagement

no yeah this is a great idea! it just makes me worry that that’s the direction a lot of people are sliding towards, which means not great things for irl life stuff

Ah, yeah :( I’d say that’s likely true because those in power are normalizing bigotry. When the president openly says slurs on national TV, the people that were already saying slurs feel emboldened to get worse. It’s a rough time for sure, but don’t forget that we’ll always have each other 🫶
