They don’t just “ get away with it.” You realize they have extensive investigations over things like that. Multiple people get together to talk about the incident, watch body cams, sometimes multi body cams, then they call every officer there in to hear what they say happened. If something doesn’t line up they can get suspended or moved departments.

Even with that it’s not just a pat on the back kind of thing. It’s still investigated and processed. People stay have to agree to get qualified immunity

I’m just correcting the way you say. Because it’s not a light thing. It a traumatic experience for all parties. Most officers invoked involved in a death a required therapy to be approved back. Sometimes not though.

Right, but understand that qualified immunity is there to protect cops. They will not use it all the time, but it a tool that can and is used to scapegoat law enforcement from any damages they may have caused. That is still a problem is there are measures in place to prevent accountability on behalf of the state. In simple terms: state-sanctioned violence

It’s something that needs clarification and rules. Because there are minor things that happen while on job that are not completely the officers fault and they should be sued or charged with things because of it. But major things should definitely not have this. It should have didn’t rules and regulations to it.
