plus like. suburbia is an extremely lonely place. moving to the suburbs would not in the slightest be a productive response to feeling lonely

I was using “recession indicator” as a stand-in for “individualism-pilled reaction to an escalating climate of fascism”, which was admittedly a bit opaque if that doesn’t answer your question, please read the wikipedia entry for “white flight” for context re: the suburbs and/or use your preferred search engine to look up critiques of queer assimilation (not saying this sarcastically!)
