i just picked a name i had always kinda liked and thought could suit me, really. no special meaning behind it, just thought it was a cool name and took it

Mine was kind of a familiar process. The name my dad wanted had I been AFAB, middle name was from my sister and mum, and last name added in my grandparents’ and step-dad’s.

I went through almost a decade of over 100 different names. At one point I had a new name every week. Eventually I googled “most common transmasc names” and picked the second one I saw (I was NOT picking Kai)

I figured out something that meant a lot to me, then searched for a different way to call it. I refused to call myself “Phoenix”, so I found a translation for it and went with that.
