OK, this is a genuine question and I hope I don’t sound offensive when asking, but what is actually the difference between bisexual and pansexual? I’m trying to understand where I might be in the LGBTQ community.

Everyone’s got different ideas of what those labels mean but to me I see pansexual as meaning gender doesn’t play a role in attraction meaning someone’s kinda open to whatever as long as they find it attractive, and bi means attraction to at least two genders, which could also be used in the same way as pan but also includes people who do have a preference

I’m not the most informed on it, but I kinda view it as different parts of the same spectrum. Like someone who’s bi might still have a preference on if they date a man or a woman even if they like both, but for someone who’s pan, gender isn’t really a factor they consider
