For context she is an Algerian trans woman that was a famous cabaret performer in Paris during the 1950s and 60s (at La Carrousel du Madame Arthur which is still open and host drag queens and trans performers regularly) and one of Europe’s first trans women. She retired from performing and became an educator in the 1970s.
