If anyone is wondering why NOT to drop T from LGBTQ+, it’s literally a matter of sticking together. They have no intention of stopping with trans people once they’ve eradicated their rights. Simply put: Ape stronger together.

And this is probably basic knowledge to most of yall but I know when I was younger and didn’t know any better I was like “but trans isn’t about who you like so it shouldn’t be with LGB”

very valid point, additionally (for those who have a transactional view of life), we wouldn’t have modern lgbt rights if it wasn’t for trans people, esp trans women of color. major moves for lgbt equality were made by the trans community, and we owe them the respect back for that at the very LEAST. (yes we should care bc it’s the right thing to do if you have empathy but those who consider dropping the T clearly don’t have empathy)

Trans people are also the reason the rest of us have our rights. They were the leaders in the stonewall riots. We wouldn’t be where we are without the brave trans people that came before us

Yeah. To some extent I think it can be helpful to clarify when people are discussing sexual orientation or gender (like in certain studies, or when talking about how LGBTQ+ friendly a country is, it can be helpful to separate a country being gay friendly or trans friendly), but that's like ultra nuance and as a group we are always a group.
