Police are the literal definition of a gang/mafia. We have to pay them (taxes) for protection, they get to make the rules, and they just go around hurting whoever they want.

They can still be wrong and/or misunderstand. Trustworthy ≠ right. The rest of us looked and found zilch. The closest thing is the gangs that exist within various PDs which is absolutely not the same as LAPD being designated a gang. Something tells me you care more about feeing you and this person are correct than actually being correct

oh absolutely. there's no denying that. there are dozens of police gangs and most if not all PDs operate like gangs, but an FBI designation is no small thing and i think it's important to be accurate. the FBI works in tandem with LAPD, and they wouldn't (openly) do so if they classified them as a gang
