Not sure if we’re thinking about the same thing but I hate this generation’s mentality about education and personal growth. Everyone’s expected to be perfect from the start, people say they want to educate others and have a more progressive society yet they refuse to acknowledge the fact that people are able to grow and change at the same time
this is exactly what i’m talking about, well said. there is no such thing as progression without growth and helping each other reach that point of growth. obviously if someone is irredeemably horrible and unwilling to learn, that’s a different story but it doesn’t help that our generation always assumes the worst out of everyone.
Yup Honestly I was a bad person in my teens, it was back when trump was first running for president and bigotry was making a full comeback in meme culture, even though I was one of the main targets I’d still join in out of self hatred and I said a lot of things I wouldn’t even think about saying now that I’ve reached actual adulthood, not directly targeted at others but still contributing to bad culture
People here make it very obvious that something like that it irredeemable, obviously my behavior wasn’t ok but it was also definitely influenced by peer pressure and being autistic, but idk I just don’t see why the same people who preach about wanting to educate people HATE when people (like me) get educated and actually change their ways
