im an environmental science major, this is actually a thing that’s happening. medications like birth control aren’t fully broken down by the body, and some passes through into waste water and ultimately makes it back to the environment. (cont in comments)
My Ally friend talking to his brother who voted for RFK: “Idk if you heard, but they did a study and they’ve found that frogs are actually reproducing less because of chemicals in the water, and they’re even confusing other males for females!”

these things aren’t treated for in waste water facilities, so they pass through easily. the estrogen from these medications has documented feminizing effects on frogs. i know it’s an alex jones ass talking point, but this is a real, genuine thing, and it’s important to recognize that and not write it off. at the same time, it’s important to recognize that it’s not an intentional, malicious thing on any government or corporate entities part, it’s just a byproduct of the medications we use.

The oestrogen in the water supply is from me. Transition is not a choice. I have bottled testosterone water for every Trans masc individual who needs it, though, because I’m not a monster.

no problem!! i was also very averse to people talking ab it at first because it is such a right wing talking point, and i still get pissed when they say it’s some conspiratorial thing. i just thought it was important to mention!

It’s one of those things where someone read the title of a scientific article and made their own decisions about what was being claimed without reading anything else in the article 😔

Sounds like we need tighter environmental restrictions instead of the RFK approach which is blaming important medical care!
