important question actually. most places are fine if there’s high traffic but it’s always important for anyone to be mindful of more “secluded” areas in a big city, mostly/especially at night. i lived in NYC for a while and spent my whole life visiting, people don’t really gaf about what you do or how you look for the most part. people can be weird everywhere tho so keep your wits about you and i wouldn’t recommend going off the beaten path unless you know your way

Yeah I’ve lived here my whole life, certain parts of the city you definitely don’t want to bring any kind of attention to yourself. And New York is very very red, as soon as you leave the city whether east or north, it’s a whole different conversation. But Manhattan is pretty safe, especially nowadays.

yeah it’s hard(though not impossible ig) to find a truly “unsafe” part of manhattan these days unless you’re a tourist with their valuables in easy to reach places. i also think i might have a higher tolerance than others when it comes to places being “unsafe” lol
