im transmasc nonbinary and i have no idea either honestly. i always feel out of place around a group of cis guys cuz i have experiences they just Don't get, but groups of women treat me kind of weird because i'm either misgendered or my masculinity is addressed with hostility

theres kind of no real place for trans people at the table in any gendered groups, especially when youre nonbinary. you either have to hide part of yourself or accept being ostracized in exchange for being your genuine self. you have to choose between downplaying your experiences or constantly being forced into the role of an advocate and activist and educator and it is beyond exhausting

this is in a blue state with strong legal protections and high social acceptance for trans people too. no matter how accepting they are, cis people who havent unpacked the gender binary and the roles they play in it always make me feel like i'm out of place and i fear it wouldnt be any better if my identity was binary
