For info: The US is being re-evaluated for a safe proxy for refugees in Canada. Currently it’s still intact but if you need to leave, go to Canada as a visitor then fly to the UK. The UK by their own laws can never deport someone back to their birth country of origin when a safety refugee claim is made. If the UK refugee claim is denied, they would have to deport you to the last safe country you traveled to before entry into the UK which would be Canada.
I know. The goal is a safe country for being trans. Canada is the closest country that takes trans rights seriously. However, the safety treaty we have with them would automatically deny your refugee claim and deport you back to the US. This becomes voided when you’re deported from another “safe” country back to Canada.
