Uhhh being trans = dehumanised in the eyes of the gov and also many people and seen as lesser dogs = not human and lesser but very cherished and loved. Petplay/being seen as a puppy = being able to be cherished and loved and not a human with a job and worries and just cared for by someone else fully and completely Other possible reason: Dog= silly lil guy woof woof
I think there’s something to be said ab how we, like most endurance pack-hunting mammals (and animals as distantly related as birds), love to be pet and held. Being able to relax and be so at peace in vulnerability within the safety of the embrace of a loved one connects humans with all other animals. Long story short I think the way we treat pets is both a model and projection of unconditional and untransactional love.
